About Our School
Risalah School of Excellence (RISE) is an independent School approved by the WA State Board of Education. Our school strives for excellence encompassing academics and character building, all through an Islamic lens. RISE opened it’s doors for grades 6 & 7 for the academic year 2024/2025 with plans to open 8th grade in 2025/26 and expand up to 10th grade in the coming years.
IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Candidate School
RISE is a Candidate School for the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that RISE believes is important for our students.
College Board Approved for AP & SAT Prep
Risalah School of Excellence is officially approved by the College Board to offer AP courses and SAT prep. Our advanced academic program begins in 8th grade, allowing middle school students to take AP classes and earn both high school and college credits early. Additionally, our dual credit program provides students with the opportunity to gain college credits while fulfilling high school requirements, ensuring they are academically prepared and ahead in their educational journey.
Commitment to Islamic Education
RISE is a proud member of the Council of Islamic Schools in North America (CISNA), reflecting our dedication to maintaining high standards in Islamic Studies, Arabic, and Quran education. Through this membership, we continually strive to enhance our curriculum and educational practices to provide our students with a strong foundation in both faith and academics.
Our Educational Philosophy
Connection with the word of Allah
Our students’ connection to the word of Allah starts with instruction in Quranic recitation and memorization. All our academic instruction integrates reflection on the Quran throughout topics.
Rigorous academics
Rigorous academics follow in the tradition of Muslim scholars who sought knowledge to serve the Ummah. We seek to equip our students with the knowledge and skills to allow them to be future torchbearers.
Islamic integration
Islamic integration does not stop at connecting theories and ideas, for our religion is one of practice. Our education is intended to be transformational, encouraging academic and spiritual growth through application.
Diverse enrichment program
Diverse enrichment programs cater to a wider spectrum of student needs and skills, including creativity, art and physical health.
Prophetic tradition
we follow the Prophetic tradition of emotional intelligence and care by ensuring our student’s well-being is monitored and supported.

What Makes RISE Different?
International Baccalaureate (IB MYP) program
RISE is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, making us the first Islamic School in the area to offer this globally recognized program. The IB curriculum fosters critical thinking, global awareness, and academic excellence while encouraging students to develop leadership and service-mindedness—values deeply rooted in our Islamic principles.
High-school with fully in-person instruction
RISE is expanding beyond middle school to establish the first fully in-person Islamic high school in the region. Our high school will offer a comprehensive education that blends strong academics with character-building, leadership training, and a deep connection to Islamic values—all in a dynamic, engaging classroom environment.
Level Based Arabic Language learning
At RISE, we recognize the importance of Arabic as the language of the Quran and a key to understanding Islamic heritage. Our level based Arabic language program focuses on building proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension, helping students connect deeply with their faith while gaining valuable linguistic skills.
Advanced Placement (AP) Courses for Academic Excellence
We are proud to announce that RISE has been approved by the College Board to offer Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Starting in 8th grade, our students will have access to rigorous, college-level coursework that prepares them for future academic success. AP courses help students develop advanced skills, earn college & highschool credits, and stand out in competitive college admissions.
